Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a research-supported therapy designed to help people heal from trauma and distressing experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (eye movements, taps, or sounds) to help the brain reprocess painful memories in a way that reduces their intensity.
EMDR is effective for:
In an EMDR session, we identify the memory or experience that continues to cause distress and pair it with gentle bilateral stimulation. Over time, the memory becomes less overwhelming, and clients often report feeling lighter, more grounded, and able to move forward.
EMDR is not about erasing the past—it’s about changing how the past impacts you in the present.
